How do i stop this from getting to me?

I am at work at a Comfort Inn and all night it has been older (35+) people coming in and almost every one has called me kid, or said that the rates are outrageous but i wouldn't understand because i am so young. This is really getting to me. granted, i am only 18 but they are making it seem like my reasons for the high rates (only $85/room) are irrelevant because i 'haven't been out in the real world'. i just smile and try to not let my annoyance show but they just keep doing it.

it's normal that ppl like to comment u nowadays as long as they won't hurt ur feeling w'd do.

Be glad your are being called kid instead of old lady. Most old people wish they were young and very few young people wish they were old.

whenever they whine about the price just say "I'm sorry you feel that way about the prices but it's not up to me to change them." If possible, allow them to speak to the manager.

Whenever they call you a kid, just say something along the lines of "Look Im just doing my job. Let me know if I can help you with anything, but unfortunately I cannot do anything about the prices."
