not sure if i'm doing this correctly. i have a panasonic HDTV - i recently purchased the panasonic HTIB SC-PT760 and the PS3. right now, i have an HDMI cord going from the PS3 directly into the TV (picture looks great). in an effort to get surround sound when watching PS3 blu-ray movies, i attempted to connect an optical cable from the PS3 to the PT760, but to no avail. i knew i was not getting surround sound b/c my wireless speakers were not giving off any sound (on the PT760, my selection is the "AUX" b/c "D-IN did not yield any sound). based on this thread, i also tried connecting the optical audio cable out of the TV and into the PT760, but i'm still having the same issue... no surround sound (this time, on the PT760, my selection is the "D-IN"). does anyone have any suggestions?

  1. The only thing I can think of that you haven't mentioned is making sure the PS3 is set-up to output to optical:

Settings > Sound Settings > Audio Output Settings
