I saved up 5,000 dollars and currently saving more money to move to california. The problem is, I don't have a job nor family that lives there.

I'm currently not working, but make money by helping family members out.

I have until next year in september to move out of my mother's house.

I want to live in california (san diego) to get into some type of training program so I can get a job in that field. I use to live in san diego, but that was way over 10 years ago.

In the mean time I will look for a security job for the time being, and work part time and go to school. The problem is, I won't be making enough to have my own place.

The only thing i can think of is,getting a roomate. How do i go about this if i don't know anyone in san diego? What are the safe areas in san diego? Another problem of mine is, I don't have a car.

I need any advice that will help me make this differcult move. What advice would you give a 23 year old that hasn't lived in san diego since 1994, who has no friends or family there. No job and a place to live.

I will be 24 when I make this move, I should have around 10,000 when I move. Please help good advice please, you will also get 5 stars if you live in california and can tell me the do's and son't to living there.

thank you

  1. San Diego is a pretty safe place to live. If you are going to be going to school, you could meet a future room mate that way, Once you get a job you will meet people. Also, the best place to find people to help you out with anything is by joining a church.Good luck to you.

  2. be u

  3. I live in california but northern my dad lives half hour from san diego. don't get ghetto town.. someone close to petco park...(pdres stadium) you can work there and get lots of money.. the games are only 8$!!! a person!  you might want to save a little more becuase you need to buy a house or somewhere to live..

  4. The first thing you need to do is find a place to live. The best way to find roomates with a place already is www.craigslist.org . Most likely you will find collage kids or something shairing a house which will make the cost much cheaper. Even if this isnt a great fix its a start to get you into the area. Then you will need to get a guard card to do security in CA. You can do this by applying to a local or natonal security company like Allied-Barton. Night work would be best for you as you can do school doing the day and for the most part do your book work at night while siting at a desk.
