  1. Start by trying to float in the 3 ft section of the pool. Then work your way up to the 5 ft section, and try dogpaddling. You can keep yourself afloat by dogpaddling. Work up your confidence into lying on top of the water...just relax and let your body flow with the water.

  2. Start by getting use to your face being in water.  Practice by using a sink, till you are comfortable with the water in your face.  Move forward from there to standing in a pool, and put your face in gradually getting use to the water around you.  Move slowly, learning something new like this takes time.

Swiming lessions are a good way to learn not only the basics but also the various strokes.

Best of luck.  Remember, it takes time.  .

  5. I was scared to swim also. What I did is try to walk underwater for a couple of week. Then try to pick your feet up from the ground and kick them to you know you got a hang of it. Then try to go up and down like a whale. The go to the surface and try to kick your feet. Here's a other tip, use a swim tube to help you swim. That's what help me also. Good Luck!

  6. just doggy padle

  7. take some swimming lessons. Don't ever think you're too old to learn to do something! I think you just need to get used to the idea of swimming. If you don't freak out, it will be MUCH EASIER!!!!!! trust me and Good luck!!!!!!!♥♥♥♥

  8. First, get a life jacket, and stay in water that you can stand in with the water still below your neck. Try to float with the life jacket, and keep doing this for a while until you start to feel comfortable. Keep the life jacket on, and start to move into water a little deeper, and keep trying to float until you are comfortable. If you aren't, go back to the other water level. Always bring someone with you.

Oh, and you can always get lessons. That would actually help a lot better. Good Luck.
