How do i switch phones with a cdma phone

I have us cellular and I was wondering if I bought a new phone would I be able to switch and if I can how do I switch it? Thanks!

  1. CDMA is a the locking software embedded in your phone. Unlike a GMS phone which keeps one half of the software in the phone and the other half in the hardware SIM card. (in the case of international GMS all of the software is in the SIM card)

    The only way to move your software in CDMA is to flash the phone's firmware with your software containing all of your service info or send that software via cellular network.

    The first method involves some pretty decent hacking skills, that even a phone cracker will tell you isn't worth it. The second your service provider can do easily with a simple request. The only problem: most CDMA providers charge for this service, it'll appear on your next bill as a hardware switch. (usually from $20-$35)
