How do i switch the king and the rook on the chess bored i cant figure it out?

  1. Tom is right.  You may not have previously moved either the king or the rook to do this, and all other pieces between them must be moved out of the way.  This move is usually referred to as a "castle".


  2. If you have moved the pieces between them out of the way and have not previously moved either the rook or king, you may move the king 2 spaces toward the rook and put the rook in the space between the king and where the king was.

    You may not move the king either into or through a position of check.

  3. It is called castling.
