I had a bird's nest in my backyard, and it was recently taken by some animal, I found one egg, and i believe it to be a swallow's egg, it is kind of tinted pink, with pink speckles. I want to know how to try and hatch it, I have a limited budget, so i can't go and buy a million things for it, so I am desperate, and I really want to try and save the baby bird.

Oh!

And I just found a tiny hole on the rounded end of the egg, it's so tiny, but, I want to know how to take care of it and if it might die from the hole...please, just answer, any info. would be appriciated.

  1. it is really difficult to do that. you ave to keep the baby about 30 cm away from a warm bulb and put a bottle of warm water next to the egg. these replaces the mother warming the egg to hatch it. look in google for sparrow eggs and how long they take to hatch.

i think that is all you need to do, just warm it and wait for it to hatch. the hole is maybe sign of hatching soon but i am not sure. except that u r a scientist, rearing bords at home without the mum is difficult as you dont know what will happen.

if the baby ever dies(touch wood), just forget about it and think that it went to God.

  2. You sould keep it under a warm light ...
