  1. Hmmm - not sure you should take them from their "natural" environment - probably best to leave them, unless they were injured.

They're not goldfish that you can shove in a tank

Hope you realise they'll most likely die if you take them home and don't know how to properly care for them and if left outside in the backyard, could be attacked / eaten by predators / dogs etc

  2. put them in a boiler and eat some lunch!

  3. First of all, why the h**l are you pulling out things out of the water and THEN trying to figure out what to do with it.  Thats like someone buying a car and then coming on here asking others if they know how to pay for it.  THINK THINK THINK.   You probably have done more harn than good to that animal as you obviously didnt think it through.  Next time, leave it were you found it and ONLY admire it from the water and its home.  Irresponsible people like yourself start with insects to crabs, then move on to larger things like cats and dogs and have no clue how to take care of them.  You just take it or buy it and then come on here with the whole spiel how you just got this new whatever and want to know how to take care of it.   Do that poor animal a favor and take it back where you found it.

And this message goes to that person above me.  You have NO IDEA what you are talking about.  Get your facts right about what percentage of ornamental fish are wild caught.  MANY and I mean MANY of the freshwater fish are farm raised in the US as well as in Indonesia.  As a matter of fact, FLORIDA is the worlds LARGEST shipper of freshwater fish for ornamenteal use.  They are farm raised by the millions in fish farms soley for the purpose to not effect the wild colonies.  Saltwater fish are being aquacultured by many institues that farm out fish such as clown fish, basslets, cardinals, angels, and many many others.  This is done for not only the research of the animal and whether it can be bred in captivity, but also whether or not man can breed them without having to effect the wild population of the same species.  By the way, farm raised fish are more healthier than wild caught as they are raised to eat fish food instead of those that are wild that may only eat live foods in the ocean.  They are more immune to disease and invironmental change than their wild cousins.  Many fish farms are trained on how to care for the fish in a universal handling policy that is well known within the trade MAC.  MAC certification on fish(livestock) shows that not only are they handled with the best care from beginning wich includes not only farm raising but actual capture from the wild, to packing proceedures and the overall health of the fish.  The point I want to clarify is that only about 60 percent of fish are caught from the wild and majority of the fish that are caught from the wild are not considered to be in great demand in the trade except for Surgeon fish and triggers and a few wrasse.

  4. ppl who say it is mean to take something out of its natral habitat are ignorant. 85% of all aquarium fish are wild caught!! I think you should find out the species fo crab. do youhave any pix of them? Depending on the species they cuold get big. Also, crabs are scavengers. so just give them some bloodworms or little peices of fish. Even shrimp pellets work.

  5. the best way to take care of them is to put them back.

  6. put those crabs back into the river or get a glass aquarium and let them live in your living room

  7. put them back where they came from.  if you want a pet get one from a shelter or rescue group.
