  1. Request a duplicate Title and once you receive that, take it in to get it corrected.

  2. It depends.  What is between your name and his?  Is it "and" or is it "or"?  If it's and, there is nothing you can do, but there is nothing he can do either since it will take both your signatures to make any change.  He can't sell or trade it without your permission and signature.

If it says "or" between the names, then you can do whatever you'd like without his permission.  Just go to the DMV with the information on the car, and have your name removed from the title.

Or if you're feeling particularly mean that day, have his name removed and get a new title in your name only, and go take 'your' car from him.  If he calls the police, just show them the title in your name only and they will help you get it.

  3. If your name is on the title with his>As for a dupilute title> Or put a lien against it>??

  4. >>> I purchased a car which is now paid off

Why do you want you name off the car you own?

If you bought it, you should have demanded the title.  None of this makes sense.

    Good Luck...

  5. Let me get this straight.. Your name is on the title of a car that is no longer in your possession, and the person who has the car won't let you take your name off?

As far as I can tell, this is a good thing.  It means they can't sell it without your permission!!!

  6. You don't.....follow DMV directions.  As long as that title says 'and' your staying on the title.

You can be sneaky about it & submit an application for a duplicate title, leaving your name off.  give it a try..
