How do i take pictures in black and white on my Sony A200 DSLR?

i have a sony A200 DSLR camera, (here's my flickr if you wanna take a look :) http://www.flickr.com/photos/hannahlacey ) and i have no idea how to take a picture in black and white (without having to alter it on the computer). thaaaanks (:

  1. I have a sony cyber shot DSC-W55 and if I want to take pictures in black and white, I have to change the mode and go to menu. Usually if I looked around it eventually says color something. Look it up on your manual.


  2. In camera you go to the menu , go to creative style and select black and white. Or you can shoot color and change it to black in white in your photo editing software. I would choose the second. You will have more direct control over the output  

  3. Some camera has "black and white" mode-but once it's in black in white, you can't undo it. Better to take it in color and convert it into b & w.

    With Adobe Lightroom (version 1.4 shown) http://www.flickr.com/photos/little_pook...  you have complete control of the conversion (see arrow at Grayscale mix)
