  1. Use your 75-300 at 300.  Go into manual exposure mode.  If the moon is very bright, set your shutter speed to 1/ISO, and your aperture at f16.

In other words, if you're shooting at ISO 400, use shutter speed 1/400 (or close to that).  Ideally, you should use a tripod.

  2. A flash won't do you the slightest bit of good.

  3. You will want to set your ISO between 200 - 400.  A lower ISO will reduce noise when taking photos.  Shutter speed depends on lighting.  If you are taking a picture of the moon try setting your shutter speed at 1 second and if you are taking pictures of stars you will want to set shutter speed at 8 - 15 seconds...any longer than this and you will see the stars trailing through your photo because of the rotation of the earth.  You won't be able to take a good picture by holding the camera but if you have something to set it down on or a tripod would work best.  I would also set your timer at two seconds so once you hit the button it gives you time to move your hand away before it takes the picture and you risk moving the camera.  Goodluck.

  4. the answer is simple in theory but can be tricky in practice. you should use a tripod or other kind of stand to stabilize you camera and use long exposure to get enough light from the object (may need a little experimenting because of camera sensitivity and object intensity may vary so just test it to see what yields the best results). the problem you often get is stray light from other sources like streetlights, airplanes, fireworks .... you get the point so you might want to try it on an isolated spot where there is little human interference.
