I have been teaching koreans for a week already and one commented on my way of teaching, she is already 50 years old and she finds no interest on our daily lectures. My other student, a 27 yr old female korean, hasnt said a word about it yet. I really want to be an effective teacher. Can anyone give me some tips in teaching english? i dont want to seem boring and i want to see progress on their english.

  1. you could try rosetta stone it worked for me

but i had to learn norwegian

  2. You should not "lecture" her at all. You should try and get her to learn, rather than try to teach her.

The first step is needs analysis - what does she need to know and why?

Then make each lesson point towards something useful for her. Something which interests her.

I would strongly recommend you get some basic teacher training though. She is paying good money (I guess) to learn English and it's your job to provide that service so do it professionally. Get a certificate and then you'll find the work easier and more rewarding and she'll find it more fun and rewarding.

  3. marry her
