  1. Josh is exactlly correct and describes things to a tee. . . . . Do exactlly as he says and then give him the Best Answer.

  2. If you shine a light through it you may be able to see an embryo. It may take a while before one forms. Good luck.

  3. You can carefully remove the egg, and go into a dark area, and put a flashlight underneath....if you see an embryo it is fertilized. do not keep it out for more than 15 minutes.......that could kill the embryo!

  4. There is no guarantee that any egg is fertile, the only way to know for sure is by incubating them.Once you begin incubating the best way to tell if the egg is fertile or the best way to see the developing chick is by candling the egg.Candling is done by placing the egg over a strong light which will show through the shell. The best candler is a 60 to 100 watt standard light bulb places under a small cardboard box, with a hole half the size of the egg cut into the box place the egg over the hole and the light will shine through the egg.The best time to candle for fertility is after 7 days of incubation. At this point the developing embryo will be apparent you can also see developing blood vessels at this time.
