Question:

How do i tell if the valves need adjusting on my 2000 suzuki dr200

it dosn't quite tick over properly and dies down a bit when i turn the revs up too fast, also i have fully serviced it and put a new original exhaust on, and now can see specks of oil on the end of the exhaust can, i would really appreciate advice on this, thanks in advance,

  1. usually, when someone upgrade to  an aftermarket exhaust they usually experience your problem....valve could be your problem but don't quote me on that.  


  2. well you know your bike better than anyone else, if your bike feels like is has lost power or doesnt idle or ride properly then check your valves. Usually checking them about once a year (or maybe more) in the trail bikes is good prevention from engine failure. After you have done tht you should check all your jetting and bring it up to spec.
