How do i tell my dad that im planning on moving in with my mom with out hurting him?

i already talked about it with my mom and im scared about telling my dad. its not his fault its just id rather be with my mom because shes easy to talk to on idk i feel akward talking to my dad about problems and i mean i have some of the best things in the world in nebraska but how do i breaking it to my dad?!?!?

Being a dad I can say that there is no way that it won't hurt but you can be sensitive and considerate and make the best of it.  I hope that your mother didn't initiate the divorce as this will seem to be the second rejection by a woman that he cares about.  My heart aches over my daughters.

Explain to your dad that you want to spend sometime with your mom as well. Let him know that when you are ready to return home you will call him. If he acquires the reason why? Just explain you want to spend sometime with your mom. It's not important to share with him regarding getting advice from him or her.

If you tell him you prefer to discuss your thoughts with your mom, when you do ask your dad for some advice, he may tell you to discuss it with your mom and then you know his feelings was hurt. So don't share with the reason why you want to be with your mom. It's not important. There are certain issues only your mom can give you advice. He should understand that you want to be with your mom too. Make sure you stay in contact with him.

Your dad will probably understand the situation you are in...I mean a girl feels alot more comfortable with the mother rather than the father...but not everyone ... everyone is different but talk to your dad about it and tell him that you need to be with your mother for a while and that you love them both but you need time with her too. I mean come on she is your mother...i am sure he will not get disappointed!!!

You can't do this without hurting him, but you need to talk to him asap!  Tell him that you need a woman to talk to and it is easy for you to talk to your mom.  And that you will call and visit him regularly.

im kind of in the same situation...most likely your dad will understand...just make sure you let him know that its not his fault...and if you want to arrange visiting plans and things like that
