Question:

How do i tell my left contact from right?? when the dot starts to fade?

well i have the hard contact lenses ( gas perm i think ) my doctor gave me them with a dot on the right lense to be able to tell them apart. now the dot is starting to fade and getting harder to tell them apart what should i do????? =/

  1. if you really need a dot, sometimes the dr's office has the materials needed to put the dot back on...

    if both eyes are different and you didn't place the lens in the labeled contact lens case correctly, you can always guess and test...put on the contacts and if everything is still blurry or not as clear as they should be, then they were placed on eye for eye so just switch them...

    the next time you get new RGPs, just ask the dr to order different colors for each eye....green for right (gReen for R) and blue for left (bLue for L) so you don't have to rely on the dot...the colors are just for you to visibly locate the contact for handling, it won't affect the color of your eyes...they both are probably green or blue now if the dr ordered them with a dot on the right lens


  2. Are the prescriptions the same? If so, it won't matter. If they are different, put them in one of those contact holders that has an R & L on it.

  3. Put them in a container and mark one side R and the other L.

    I already have the container for the lens and it says L on one, so I know its left.
