Just tell her, she will totally understand and be able to help you. I started mine when I was 11 and I knew all about ti before hand so I just went to my mother and told her that I had started and she showed me how to use a pad and everything, my mom even let me take a few days off school, because it really is a lot to get used to especially that first time. Of course being that it's summer, getting a few days off school probably won't be an option for you. Anyway,trust me you will feel so much better once you have confided in your mother. Good Luck!

i was like 9 and hlf-10 when i started mine.i kinda knew what it was cause my older sister had hers already. but i didnt know how to tell my mom so i just left my bloddy undies and pants out where she could see them and that was that.

There's nothing to it, just say, "Mom, I got my period today." She knows what you're talking about.

Is she's already talked to you about it, she knows that you know that she knows it is going to happen sooner or later.

So just say Hey Mom Guess what! I got my period today!

Say this in private, as it is a private thing people don't talk about in public or mixed company.

If she never talked to you about it, and you only know about it from other people, you should still  tell her. Perhaps its a chance for her to realise you ARE old enough to talk about it. Or if she looks like being embarrassed or awkward about it, tell her "just so she knows" and also that you have learned enough about it, to let her off the hook.

Either way it is something every girl goes through, so it will be no surprise to her. In some societies and cultures, they even put on a party to celebrate!

i never told my mom actually, i just got them myself, i never used pads, i went straight to tampons, i honestly dont know how ppl can use pads, they are so uncomfertable.

but just because i dindt tell my mother, doesn't mean you shouldnt, just do whatevers more comfertable for you, i recommend you go straight to tampons and s***w pads, they are so annoying, but watch some youtube videos on them and how to apply them before you actually start to use them,

and some ppl say it hurts the first time you use them, but i honestly don't think so, they are really comfertable, and sometimes i forget that i even have my period, i recommend that if you do use tampons for your first time you use a plastic applicator, not a cardboard, but i use cardboard, they are just easier i think, idk, eveyrones different. DO WHATEVER YOU FEEL MOST COMFERTABLE WITH! thats all ihave to say :)

just tell her.  remember, your mom had to tell her mom that she started once, too.  when i told my mom, she said to me, 'no wonder you're being a *****' but not in a mean way, it was pretty funny, because i was being one lol.  but yeah, just tell her you think you started, and if she asks why, just say there was blood in your undies or pants or whatever.  its no big deal once you let her know.  good luck!
