  3. Explain in detail what your future plans are and how those will affect your son in every aspect. Children are reasonable and very understanding. He may complain at first or say he refuses to move with you. However, you are the parent and he has to go with you.

    Involve him in the moving process and make it fun.

    If he's older and you're moving by yourself, invite him out to eat. Spend time with him and explain your reasons for wanting to move. No matter how far you may be from him, he will always be with you and you with him.

    We all have to find our place and no matter how much we are attached to someone, we have to make the best of every situation.
