How do i temporarily suspend a group?

I'm a moderator in a group, and for particular reasons I need to suspend my yahoo group temporarily, and probably re-activate it in a few months. Is there a way to do this?

you could set group settings in messages of who can post- limit access to the web features but an option might be locating a fill-in moderator instead.

Not really.  You could set everyone to 'this member cannot send messages' but my guess is your members wouldn't be too happy about that.
