How do i text on my new ipod touch?

i have a new ipod touch, and someone told me you can text on it, but i dont get how, i searched it on yahoo answers, but i couldnt understand, something about jailbroken.

so please help.

You can't... It isn't a phone and doesn't go through a cell network. You can jailbreak your iPod, but that has nothing to do with texting.
