How do i tone down the chilli in my indian (butter chicken)?

I made indian butter chicken today and it has TOO much chilli in it. Is there any way to tone the hotness down.

This dish is supposed to be mild not HOT.

  1. add some sugar. it will be less acidic, and reduce the heat


  2. add extra yoghurt if you dont have that sour cream or cream

    next time dont add too much chilli

  3. if you are using fresh chiles - take out the seeds AND (here's the important bit) the white flesh stuff the seeds are stuck to

  4. Dont put as much chili in (next time).. if its a packet mix add cream or sour cream or coconut milk/cream..
