How do i trace some one who is adopted?

my husband has just found out that he has a sister who was adopted has a baby can any one give me any idears it would be wonderful to bring them together

Get together all the info you can - birthdate - state born and adopted into - whatever info you can find.

well umm do what ever is necesary!:)) u could get all the information on him/her get the parents or contact them some how if u can contact the agency or the place where u adopt them at!

i was adopted as a baby i have found my sisters but havent been able to find my eldest brother your husband aint kirk grice is he other than that find out were they once lived and put a newspaper ad i will warn you people will make money out of this

read the laws.

If he can get non id information apply for that first

then if you want to join the registry and hope for a match do that too.

Also put a waiver to release your identifying information into her file through the state / agency she was adopted through. Formated letters can be found here : http://www.adoptionrecords.com

Then get all of the information you can on her and start your own search by finding a state board for adoptees / first families searching for one another and get help from volunteer search angels.

Find out the city and state of birth and which agency handled the adoption.  Gather all the information that is known about her first, ie, date of birth, birth mother's name, etc.
