  1. Well then I'd start out walking for the first week or two! Being overweight and just running w/out begging to walk is NOT A good idea, unless u wanna get injured. Begin by brisk walking 2 miles or so a day for the first week. The 2nd week, kick it up to 2.5 or 3miles. You;ll drop few lbs. and get your muscles ready for running. Week 3 keep walking, but then add a few minutes of light jogging(not running) to get your body used to the heavy pounding. Running is a GREAT way to burn fat and lose weight but just take your time. Rome wasn't built in a day. Good Luck!

  2. start out slow when u run... actually i would start walking or jogging.. you can stop in between its okay if you do. you will gradually build up your enduance and not need to stop. a 5k is very hard if your just beginning i was in cross country for two years when i did my fisrt 5k now i try to do it when ever i see an add for one. dont forget to stretch and dont give up.

good luck && keep running =]

  3. A great way to get in shape is looking for a group

of people to run with...trust me this is the most effective

way to go. You have people in your same situation, the

difference is...you're pushing each other and motivate

not to stop and to keep going....I used to be over weight,

and I got with cross country and I lost about 40 lbs in 2

    months...!

Basically start doing about 2 miles on long days, and

maybe half on a short run. You want to make sure

you stretch before so you don't get injured. Slowly work

your way up. I would suggest not running a race for

about 2 or 3 weeks after you start training....I was an

idiot and ran a 4 mile race uphill on my second week...it

was horrible. So just train for a bit and remember, DON'T

GIVE UP, running is duable, if anyone can do it, you can too!

    good luck!

  4. Build your way up to it. start with 1km, then gradually build it up to five.

i used to run the block near my house then i asdded the next block and the next one now im running all five

  5. i just ran my first 5k yesterday.  I've been training for it for ever it seems.  About 2 years ago i was running half miles with starts nd stops in between.  Then i slowly built up to running whole miles w/ out stopping.  Then eventually 2miles with out stopping.  Just yesterday i finally ran the 3miles and it was amazing; such a great feeling.
