  1. Every week increase your time.

Week 1 maybe you could walk, then jog, then run for a few minutes.

Week 2 you could walk for less, jog for more then run the rest.

    etc etc

    Just increase your time/endurance gradually.

  2. Do NOT run with ankle weights, that will mess up your running career I swear on it, i've seen too many of my friends go out that way. If you want you can wear ankle weights all day, [walking] and when it's time to practice or run in a meet you can take them off and dominate but one way i can think of that will help you out tremendously is to run hills, it will build up your hams

and if you can try running backwards to build up your quads, thats what i do before i practice on the track i take a couple of warm up laps and i always run 2 laps backwards...

  3. i guess you can use ankle weights but the best way i train for track is by warming up first by running around the track like 2 or 3 times then after stretching i start my sprints. If  your first starting out then i would build up faster and faster as if you were doing long distance. Its all about practicing and building up. Just go faster each day week etc. and then you will start to see results. :]

  4. there is 2 speed drills that we use to do when i ran track u can run down a hill it will increase ur calf and hamstring muscles also u can do pyramids wat that is u run to falure u run a 500 400 300 200 100 then u take a 10 min break and then u go 100 200 300 400 500 and u do these as fast as u can that builds up endurance and ur leg muscles try it and see
