  1. ive been running for four years now and i started at the park not on the track its better that way because on the grass you tend to do more and when you get on the track its easier. Good drills would be stretching for a long time before and after you run and taking long runs helps your body get used to to it.

  2. up hill sprints help your kick in the last 200. distance work outs are good for the rest of the race. find a nice looking uphill street and run it 2 sets of 10. sprint up at 3/4 speend and jog down. thats what works best for me anyhow. oh and get up on your toes at the end. you use different muscles so it doesnt hurt and you just FLY!!

  3. I dont run but my good friend does and he just runs every day and he also does leg exercises to boost muscles. He has won uhh like 3rd in 400m and 1st in 800m i think. Good luck on your running!

  4. first try fifty meters and try 100 meters go for tight gym with hundred meters training you learn 25 mt swimming and go to 150 meter running for three  days and make it double as 300 meters for one week and again go for 500 meters and try 35,50 or 75 mt swimming and finally yo go to 800 meters by high training. because i am a runner.

  5. Practice "bounding".  Basically jog for 20 meters, lengthen your stride for the next 20 meters, and jog for another 20 meters.  During practice, run 1200 meter and 1600 meter repeats.  When you have about 5 weeks until your big race, start during 400's and 600's.  Make these fast.  During the last 2 weeks before your race, taper down your training.  Make the first week of the two at 80% mileage, and the second one around 40-50%.

On race day, since you're looking for a good time, stay with your pace.  You should have a feel for this by now because of pace training earlier.  Remember, put in a big surge every 200 meters to stay on pace.  If you keep putting the same effort level in for every 200, you will lose about 4 seconds on each one.  So my 200 splits would be 30, 34, 38, and 42.  If you push harder every 200 meters, you will save those 4 second every 200.  Make sure you don't eat anything for the 2-3 hours before the race.  Drink a lot, and use the restroom before your race.  Eat a lot of carbs the day before and two days before your race.

    Hope I helped!
