  1. if ur not goin to summer school, run in the mornins

eat nuts, yes nuts any type but try to not eat the ones with salt

run at night too or wen it is hot so u can build ur lungs

do situps at home, the work abs and abs means speed and strength, so with abs u'll b more agile

don't' drink monster etc. coffee, any stimulant

stick to gatorade, powerad or Arizona green tea since this has less sugar

stretch do u don't delay ur workouts and run in the pool just like michael jordan

  2. really, the best thing to do is to trust your coach and his plans for you in practice. if you want to run in addition to the practice with the team, run more mileage, whether you do fartleks or up-tempo for an hour. or you can do a speed workout. and really, listen to your body. if it's in pain, don't run through it, but take care of your body. having an injury during season is the worst thing that can happen to you. ice it, rest it, stretch it, rub it out.

do mile repeats one week. and another do 1/2 mile repeats. go for a pace little faster than how you would run your mile in a cross country race. do maybe 3 sets of those and then jog back home as a cool down.

  3. interval training always worked for me

given, i was in middle school, but i finished top 10 every event both years.
