  1. I had dwarf hamsters.  They were cute but they peed and pooped everywhere.  Don't know if anyone else will claim to have a solution for you...

  2. so your dwarf hamsters use the toilet?? wouldn't they fall in?

i have three teddy bear hamsters and they all pee in one corner but they p**p everywhere hahaaa even when they are running on their wheel lol

  3. Hi Joseph, sadly to say, hamsters cannot be litter/toilet-trained. they simply pee and poo everywhere. I used to have 17 of them. =)

  4. duh. you obvioulsy throw them in the toilet. then you flush and watch what happens.

  5. Pay attention to where your hamster has been peeing, [its usually in one or two particular spots] and put the potty there. Put some of its droppings in the potty so it is a little bit familiar to it and he will start going there.

  6. It's almost impossible to potty train a hamster. They will urinate and poo anywhere. But if they do it in a specific corner, you can buy one of those cute little tv looking plastic toilet things for their cage and put a little of the bedding from their pee bedding, into the new toilet. There is no telling what they will actually do with this once they find it.

I once had a hamster who would pee in his wheel during the day and then at night he would jump in it and start running. The pee would fling everywhere. Who knows what they are thinking. lol

  7. I've never known of anyone who has succeeded in 'potty training' a hamster.  They do often choose one corner of a cage to pee, but as far as the rest, whenever and wherever nature calls, they answer.

This doesn't mean you can't try!  You just may be the first to house-train a hamster! Good luck !
