How do i transfer a home movie of my grandkids into a DVD?

I just started to learn the basic about computers... I have MyDVDplus on my desk top, then when i click it it says SONIC, I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong.

How to transfer home movies to a dvd? thank you.

Unless your PC has a "video capture card" or "external usb video capture solution" you can't.

If it's a one of job it'll be  a lot simpler to take it to a local shop that offers the service. Quite a few photo shops now offer this service, although they might be agents and sent it to someone else to transfer.
