how do i transfer and video file on the internet that's 2gig in size without having to send it as a zip and messing up it's contents. I already know of http://www.yousendit.com but it only lets you send up to 100mb for free. does anybody know of a free way i can do this?

  1. If the distant computer has a  way you can log on to it and has an FTP  server, you can use ftp to transfer.  Also sftp or ssh.  Talk to the owner of the distant computer to see if those are possibilities.

  2. thats pretty big for a video file.

you could make it a .torrent file

  3. Can you just use a 4 or 8 gig flashdrive?

    We do.

  4. Two gigs is an unusually large file to send. Most providers would not allow a file that large since it would take up too much bandwidth for such a long time. Why don't you put it on a DVD and snail mail it? It would be a lot safer for the file.

  5. In Yahoo Messenger, you supposedly can drop and send attachments of any size.  The person receiving also has to have YM, I think.

A friend of mine said it doesn't always work, but maybe worth a try.
