Use Itunes.

the music you have on your ipod is only a slave of what is on itunes although the ipod can only pair with ONE itunes ...

itunes can pair with many ipods or iphones as Itunes is the MAster music player and organiser and its itunes that you should back up not the ipod! (back up the contents of your itunes folder regularly to another computer or USB drive after every purchase or CD Import)

just plug the iphone into itunes and then select what music you want it to sync with as the ipod will have nothing on it that isn't on itunes.

the best way is to use itunes which is set up to link with the iphone much as you do with the ipod. If you have used itunes to upload your music to your ipod then do the same with your iphone.
