if you wanna have open a tuning you can either put it in open g and drop the 1st, 5th and 6th sting down a whole step making the tuning from thck to thin DGDGBD and put a capo on the 2nd fret.

I assume you are looking for an open "A" tuning, so that A is played without any fingering. This is too restrictive on an acoustic, as you would have to tighten or slacken the strings to the extent they would be too slack or would break. (Either the strings or the neck!) Drop the guitar to an open D tuning, then capo at the 7th fret.

The D Tuning is : D/A/D/Fsharp/A/D (Thickest to thinnest)
