How do i turn off closed captioning on a phillips tv for good?

every time i turn on my tv closed caption is on, so i turn it off. then when it is turned on again it is on again! how do i make it so that closed captioning never comes back on? btw it is an older model CTR tv.

The control is in the remote. Open menu button and look for the closed caption your volume up or down button should turn it off. You can also go on-line and pull up Phillips TV operator manual, this your best bet.
