  1. When you get comfortable snowboarding, you won't have to think about it. But I've taught many beginners and it can be a tough concept to grasp.

At slow beginner speeds, you have to exaggerate your turns by lifting your tail off the snow, keeping it low to the ground. You can't just lean and turn because at slow speeds you'll just fall over.

Here's a great beginner tip: strap in on your living room carpet and practice lifting your turns. Stand with your weight centered and balanced. Then put a transfer a bit of weight to your front foot and lift your tail off the ground with your back foot. At the same time, twist your hips in the direction of the turn, and slide your back foot and tail around. Do this back and forth for a bit, and that is the motion for learning to turn. You are essentially kicking your back foot out when learning to turn.

Trust me, this works very well until it becomes second nature. Good luck!

  2. Use the force grasshopper

  3. i only use heel and toe for small adjustments, if u want to make big turns or carve make sure u bring ur back foot up equal with ur front foot to be perpendicular with the ground, when u do that make sure u lean back a little or else you will fall on ur face and it will hurt alot.

  4. go on toe-edge then heel edge etc. to make the S turns
