How do i undo a loop of a string between two partners??

me and a partner are doing a science project with two pieces of string. we each have a long piece of string attached to our wrists. the strings are twisted together in the middle. the object of the puzzle is to undo the twist and be separate without breaking, untying, or slipping the string off the wrists. if you have any suggestions that would be a lot of help. Thank you!!!

Reverse which motion twisted the strings in the first place.

For example, if the people, we'll say teachers, who twisted the string did so by turing it left hand over right hand twice, then to get out of it you would go right hand over left hand twice.  You should be able to do that with only one person moving, holding the wrists in the air and spinning underneath it, keeping the wrists a well-defined distance apart at all times, to prevent twisting the string further
