How do i unlock my kenmore oven after I hit self clean??

Question

I pressed flex clean on my kenmore oven and when i discovered i pressed the button, i quickly pressed cancel. Now the oven door is locked and will not work. I have tried pressing the cancel button several times and i have also pressed the light button and held it. I have no idea what to do... I really need some help! Thanks!

pull the plug and then plug back in. It could reset it like a computer

It will not unlock until time has elapsed.  It locks for your safety during the high temperature cleaning mode.  Some will stay locked for the entire time even if you cancel.  Some will unlock when the "brain" is sure the oven is still cool.

If all else fails, switch off the power, try the oven door, and then switch on the power again. You'll have to reset the clock afterward. First, tho, look in the operations manual under the troubleshooting pages. If you cannot find an answer there and switching off the outside power doesn't do it, call the 800 number for the company.

Consider reading the manual.

Self cleaning ovens are built for safety, so they can't be hacked. Try re-programming it to self clean, let it go through it's cycles, and when it cools down enough, it will unlock for you.

It will unlock when the temperature comes down to a safe temperature.  No need to get edgy, it probably already happened!
