  1. when you cast you never take your eyes off the bait (as it flys through the air) and the absolute second that bait hits the water surface you thumb (stop) the reels forward motion. that's it if you are whipping a bait through the air trying to launch it or at least set a world record for casting distance then slightly thumb the spool a little as it is unwinding letting line off and the line won't travel faster than the spool can (that is what causes backlashes) the line is coming off the spool faster than the spool is moving. so you use your thumb to just lightly touch the unraveling line and it will tighten back onto the spool without backlashing still allowing the spool to continue unrolling and letting line out...all the while baitcasters take focus you just have to watch the bait as it flys away from you and you have to stop the spool when the bait stops flying.

  2. Baicasters are by far the most difficult to use..the first answer nailed it on the head.

The whole key is controlling how much line is going out.

Put 100 yards of line on there you dont care about to practice with till you get the hang of it.

For all your fishing gear and needs check out my AMAZON associated site at WWW.GETFISHING.NET

  3. 1. If you're a beginner, I'd recommend a spinning setup

    2. How to use:

"cover" the reel partly with your hand

    cast and stop spool

    Catch a lunker =)

**baitcasters take some practice to master
