How do i use a fax machine in an office setting?

i have faxed once or twice before but usually someone does my faxing.

but those 2 times i have used a fax machine someone helps me.

so what are the steps or directions for using a fax machine so i look like i know what i am doing at the office. be specific please.

Depends on the type of machine. If it is just a simple fax, all you do is put in the document you wish to fax, dial the # and push start. If (and most likely) it is a combo fax/printer/copy machine, there should be a button marked fax. Then the procedure is about the same. dial the #, put the document in making sure it is turned up or down as it needs to be in that machine and push start or send. Some machines the paper goes in face up to send a fax and some goes face down. You may have to ask someone about that if it is not indicated on the machine.
