When installing the drivers to get the controller to work right, I wouldn't suggest using the drivers that come with windows. Use the XBCD drivers. They're free, and let you set different buttons and axis to different functions on the controller. So, if COD4 doesn't recognize a function, you can set it to another axis, but still press the same button on the controller.

buy xbox 360 cotroller with a USB port

get a xbox live account (Gold)

theres one for a month wich is 10 dollars

one ofr three which is 30

and one for a year wich is 50

and then get a wireless adapter or ethernet connection

Get  a wireless extension port for your pc..

or you could just use the usb controller version...

note: call of duty 4 can only be played for one player online..
