How do i use cmd from my laptop to tell my pc downstairs?

I have a laptop upstairs and a laptop downstairs and sometimes i have to go downstairs to check info on the cmd comp. so is there a thing like when i type ipconfig it will like type it into the one downstairs and say if im upstairs and its late and i've turned the alarm on and i want to tell the comp to do something in cmd like open a program so i can scan something?

  1. Well you could use a bunch of tools from sysinternals...or you could just load up teamviewer on both computers...Teamviewer is a free solution for remote control/support between computers..works like a charm


  2. Why not use the Microsoft built in Remote Desktop Connection if the PCs are on the same network? Just enable it on the client PCs(PCs to be accessed) and add users. That would be easier than running up/down stairs, :) If the two PCs are not connected to A same network, then you can always write some scripts(not that much easy though)!

  3. use a software called VNC server it connects to any computer around the globe instantly and you can do anything!

  4. I suggest you activate the Remote Desktop feature on both pcs.  

    Then from pc1 you can remotely operate pc2 (and vice versa) via Remote Desktop.
