How do i use the wifi on my ds for pokemon diamond?

There are two ways in which to access the internet from your DS. The first way is by picking up a wireless internet signal emitted by the same device that provides the internet to your computer. The second way is by installing a Nintedo Wi-Fi USB port in your computer and accessing the internet via that way.

Both ways require you to register your DS and the Pokemon game. To do this, go to the Pokemon Diamond or Pearl start menu and select 'Nintendo Wi-Fi Configuration'. From there, select which options that apply to you and follow the instructions. This will ultimately lead you to your DS and game registered and now you may access Nintendo Wi-Fi.

Now to trade/battle/whatever with someone else you must go into your bag and check your Pal Pad. Inside it should tell you your Friend Code and it has an option to add another persons friend code. Both you and the other person must have eachothers friend code to see eachother on wifi. Once you have registered the person go down stairs in any pokemon center and talk to the lady at the desk.
