How do i vacuum my inground pool?

I know how to attach it - but does on e of the holes in the bottom of the skimmer need to be plugged up? I know there is a flap that can plug eaither hole

You should have a long hose with a round adapter which goes in the skimmer from the top. It will attach to a head with brushes on the bottom and a place for a handle to attach that you push along the bottom and a hole to connect the other end of the hose. Move it slowly across the bottom and it will then be pumped in to your sand filter. It is recommended to have your water's pH adjusted to minimize the need to vacuum.

And Yes, it will cover the hole in the skimmer, this is what creates the suction.
