I need 40 bucks and part of earning it is by washing my parents cars (2). But idk what to use on the outside. Can i use plain soap (the stuff for dishwashing) and water or do i have to use special stuff made for car washing? Is it ok to mix soap, vinegar, and water together? So what should i use?

  1. 1. Hose the car down.

    2. Fill bucket with water and soap (you can buy the kind just for cars at wal-mart.)

    3. Get a nice big sponge and wash the car using your soap solution.

    4. Rinse car with hose.

    5. Dry the car with a towel.

    6. Wipe windows with glass cleaner.

    7. Shine tires with tire shiner (buy it at the store)

    8. Get paid and get praised by your parents for such an awsome job.

  2. No don't use plane soap. They strip the car of wax and top coat. vinegar is good for counter tops. But very bad for metal (rust).

    Good Luck...

  3. Car wash detergent is pretty reasonably priced and concentrated.  In a pinch you could use dishwashing liquid but NOT the stuff for an automatic dishwasher.  About an ounce per bucket is enough.  Vinegar will do you no good.

  4. Use a soft rag or soft bristle brush made for car washing.

Use car wash soap only. Other soaps and detergent can take away any wax that is still on the car.

Also, use a chamois cloth or a soft towel to dry the car to reduce water spots.
