How do i watch a show i recorded on DVR?

so i need some help. i just got a dvr and i don't really know how to work it...i just know the basics, but i recorded a show and i don't know how to watch it now, if someone could explain it to me i would be extremely happy and great full!! thanks in advance!

I have a DirecTV DVR and in order to watch what you have taped, you hit the LIST button and the hit the enter key on the item you want to watch.  I don't know how different this might be from the DVR you have...
