  1. My brother used normal surfboard wax on my skimboard. I have a design on it, but the design is underneath the fiberglass.  The layer(s) of wax are on top of the fiberglass, not inhibiting the design.  The wax is clear, and the design can be seen through the wax.  If your design is not protected by fiberglass or something similar, you may have a problem with waxing it and the design coming off your board.

As to how to wax, you only want to wax the places where your two feet are most likely to be placed on the board.  As mentioned, if you do not have a cover for your design, it may not be advisable to wax over this.  The wax is for you to be able to have more balance on the skimboard, therefore, wax for your front foot and wax for your back foot.  They may be seperate, but the areas may join together.
