  1. base coat is the first wax you use. its the base to apply regular wax on it helps create more bumps for traction and it makes your wax last longer. Now for the wax part theres cold, warm and tropical the 64-74f is telling what water temp it works best on. You dont want to use warm if the water is cold. or vice versa the wax just wouldnt work to its full potential

    1) put a layer of base coat on your skim board, rub it in a circular motion to create a layer

2)apply wax over the base coat in circular motion till you creat the bumps

  2. hello confused.   don't heat up your wax- just rub your base coat wax on side to side ,tip to  tail,  'til you build up a thin layer. next rub your other wax on top of that side to side tip  to tail 'til you have a good total layer about the thickness of a dime or a little less. the "warm" on the lable identifies the water temp you are going to use it in. wax comes in formulas for cold-cool and warm-tropical & soom others. choose the right one so it stays sticky and not hard in your water temp.you can read about your wax.just type in "Sticky Bumps surf wax" and click on "wax tutorial". you can also check out Mr.Zogs s*x Wax on line and the largest Surfboard wax museum collection. have fun and "Skim 'til you drop"
