How do i win an off-theline-race?

i have an 86 celica with 135hp and im wonder whats a good way to win a short race off the line like how high do i rev. it before i rip the clutch out. what RPM should i shift...i usualy drive normal but some kid thinks he can beat me and all my buddies say ill waster him...

Try different rpms!  hold it at 2k and dump it.  If it spins then hold it lower, if it doesn't spin, hold it higher.  Shifting will depend on the hp and tourqe curve.  Just redline it with quick shifts.
