How do I wire a 12V Battery to a Car amplifyer? Typically the posivite side runs a wire through your car and the negitive to your amps 12V imput. However, I am hooking it up to my home theatre system and i don't know how to complete the circuit with the now missing positive wire... what do i do to hook this battery up to the amp?

  1. lmao, thats some hood stuff there man.

get a power inverter from AC to DC and hook it to the amp. remember to use fuses cus seems like ull be making a lil fire

  2. if you wanna do what the guy above me says, get a 3 prong extension cord and cut it leaving about 3 inches to strip and connect the wires, connect the positive and ground plug it in, it will work, but i wouldnt try to do it either

  3. dude i think you either dont know what ur talking about or you totally have it wrong. your house doesnt run on a twelve volt system, and your amp has what is called a turn on lead. this is really ghetto and a horrible thing to do but.......

get a power inverter, plug it into the wall, wire up the positive to the input (not negative bro), and negative to the ground. then for the turn on you need a source to shut on and off your amp (such as a bosch 8617 relay) using the power and ground to turn on and off your amp.....

but really you have no business doing this. you really shouldnt do it

  4. your best bet is to purchase a 110Volt car battery charger , your car battery use your amp and whatever you choose to hook it up to. but if it's a total of less then 300 watts you can hook it up to the back speaker wires but run you speakers like you would wire them for a car take 2 four ohm speakers hook 1 posative to the negative of other speaker and use the posative from one speaker and the opposite speaker negative to run to the reciever, or your option is run the posative 12V source from amp to posative battery terminal, and run the negative of amp to a piece of steel, or sanded metal and drill it to your floor, or entertainment stand. or wherever suitable, then hook up your speakers. I've done it before so if you do not pass this your not doing it correctly.
