How do i wire a amp to a separate battery in my trunk without having to run wires to the front of the car?

i have 2 12 inch xploid subs and my car is a 1988 pontiac grand am 2 door (if any one has a in dash stereo with a motorized sceen 4 sale let me know)

  1. You can't charge the aux battery unless you wire it to the main one at the front of the car


  2. The normal way to wire an amp to a battery whether separate or on the car is    Hook the red wire to the positive terminal & the black wire to the negative terminal.

  3. yes you can but you will need to charge the batt somehow,get a home charger and charge it every night,make sure it a good batt

  4. the correct way is to connect the two + from each battery so the one under the hood feeds the one in the trunk. you will want to use a fuseable link (or an in-line fuse will do) at the + of each battery. this will prevent the wire from sparking and potentially causing a fire if anything were to happen to the + wire between the 2 bats.

    hook the amp + to the bat. + in the trunk.

    ground the amp (the bat. - can work but may cause ground loop interferance, your better off grounding to the car itself)
