How do i wire a plug for a cigarette putlet behind my dash board in my car?

i bought 2 neon lights for my car that plugs into the cigarette outlet but i want to wire them so i dont have to do that. i also want to put a switsh in so i can turn them on and off. i know that the tip of the plug is the power and the side is the ground but where can i attach the power to and how do i attach the switch. thanks for all of your help

put the switch in the ground wire to reduce arching in the switch.next find an empty cavity in the fuse box that is marked for acessories for powe use an inline fuse holder and fuse to protect the circuit.

Run your + and - through the fire wall and to the battery, use terminal rings to attach to the battery bolts,( put a fused boot on the + wire)

at the dash you can break the + wire with any one of a variety of switches from the auto parts store.probably the easiest is a round push button. You can drill a hole in the dash and slip the switch through and secure it with a nut.

buy a switch you like get some wire.. run hot wire from fuse box to swtich run ground anywhere you can find a medal s***w to loosen
