Question:

How do i wire this circuit breaker?

I am supposed to use a 3 wire power cord in a curcuit, but i dont know how to wire it up to this breaker. any help or useful resources?

  1. Black is hot.

    - Attach white to white, (No Breaker).

    - Attach Green to Green, (No Breaker).

    - Attach Black to one side of the breaker, and the other black to the other side of the breaker.


  2. You would need to cut the hot (black) wire, then attach one side of the cut wire to each terminal.  The breaker always goes on the hot leg.

  3. If you are in the USA, the power cord has black, white, and green wires.  The circuit breaker goes in the black line which is the hot.  The line is cut and the cut ends attached to the two terminals.  Or you bring power to the breaker with another short black wire and attach the black wire of the cord to the other terminal.  The white wire and green wire are connected to white and green (or bare copper) wires coming in.
